Have you ever woke up and felt like you were in the race for time? That is where we are currently! We are daily sending letters, making phone calls, and praying that God will bring those that are anointed to be a part of our support team! We are sharing our calling and our hearts with all that will listen. As many of you know, just like many missions organizations, the Assemblies of God Missions program requires us to put together a team of individuals, businesses and churches that will partner with us in monthly financial support. We are running the roads and beating the bushes to try and locate and cross paths with the specific ones that God has set apart to be part of this ministry to reach the people of Alaska with a message of Hope! I am sure that if you ask any missionary, then they would share that it never happens as fast as they want it to, because our hearts are already in our missions field! But the reality is that it will happen when it is God's timing. It can become overwhelming at times as there are certain road marks that we have to achieve in our support raising. It can be what appears to be a mountain in front of us that is blocking our way to our promised missions field, but that very mountain can be perceived a couple of ways.
1.) A Fearful Roadblock: Something that is intimidating and scary. Something that is a cause for fear and anxiety that is standing in the way. Something that is steep, impassible, unable to get around, has limited accessibility to climb. The possibility of a great fall and disaster!
- OR-
2.) An Adventure between here and there: Something that will bring growth. It will bring hard climbs, slippery slopes, limited footing (can't rush the steps; one step at a time or you could slip), BUT, it will also have beautiful scenery and views of things that you never thought you could imagine, much less see in person! It will have new heights (that outweigh the possibility of falling), and throughout the climb, will be strengthening our faith and our ability to climb! It will bring a maturity that is needed when you arrive at the destination!
Trying to develop a support team, looks like an impossible task. If it was up to me alone, it would be impossible. But Praise God that it is not up to me alone! It is up to Him, and all I have to do is follow and be obedient! We are not climbing this mountain alone. We have the expert guide who goes before us and tells us the steps to take and where to put our feet to negotiate the slippery slopes and how to work around the rock faces of this mountain.
So in my moments of feeling like we are racing the clock, I can't lose my composure, because as long as I am in step with Him, I am right on time! We can't rush the climb, and He knows what pace to proceed.
Just yesterday, I was reminded in Mathew 6:25-34;
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry saying what shall we eat? or What shall we drink? or What shall we wear? For the pagans run after all these things and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
I don't know where you are in your journey, but I know that we and our current supporter are on the upward climb. We see this mountain and are faithfully step by step, hand by hand, and obstacle by obstacle going to climb the impossible to see the power of God established in the lives of others! I hope that no matter where you are in your journey, that you stop and thank God for where you are and the progress you are making, and then ask Him to lead you where your headed!
If you are a current member of our support team (financial &/or prayer), Thank You! We are excited to be partnering with you to see the message of Hope going forward to the people of Alaska. If you are a future supporter, I can't wait to meet you and have you along on this beautiful journey with us! May God bless each of you for your faithfulness! If you would like to have more information on how to join our team, check out our Join our Team page.
And remember,
God's got this!!! All we have to do is be obedient and follow faithfully!!!
Blessings,
Phillip
